When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead

When you read this awesome book, you will be entering Miranda's crazy sixth grade life!  In everyones' life, there will always be a crazy person.  For Miranda, it's the guy on the corner.  There are a lot of cause-and-effects in her life.  Most of them don't even seem like they should match up, but sometimes life likes to throw you a curveball.  When Miranda starts getting notes about saving lives, and lots of other things, she knows that this is more abnormal than the usual weirdness in her life.  One of the letters demands that Miranda writes a letter back.  She suddenly knows that these notes are very, very important.  This book is a great science fiction novel.

Hint-Hint: You need to read A Wrinkle In Time before you read this book because it will give away a lot of the end of A Wrinkle In Time.

Boom by Mark Haddon

Jim must agree that some of his actions are just plain stupid.  Jim sometimes just does things, without even thinking.  Usually things end up well, but this time, Jim isn't really sure.  Charlie might be one of the reasons.  Charlie likes to take risks.  When you ignore your best friend, you will always come crawling back.  That's what happened to Jim.  He knew that going into his teacher's house was not a good idea, just because he was suspicious that she talks a strange language with one other teacher alone.  He just went along with Charlie because ignoring your friend is a hard thing to do, so you just give in.  After that moment, when they went into their teacher's house and found things, weird stuff started to happen.  This book will keep you on your toes!
