This book is an extremely emotional book. Steven is Jeffrey's older brother, they have had a pretty normal life, until one day, Jeffrey goes to the doctor and finds out he has cancer. Steven is heartbroken and refuses to get help from a counselor or therapist. Steven has stopped doing his school work and is shutting everything off, except one thing. Drums, Steven puts all his energy in to playing the drums. His best friend, Annette, is concerned about Steven, she doesn't know that Jeffrey has cancer for a while. Renee, Steven's crush is also concerned about Steven. Renee knows about Jeffrey having cancer because she overheard Steven's mom talking about it.
